2023 Rugby League Championships

Last week CHPSSA Rugby League teams competed in the Sydney West championships. Both days were great and it was exciting to see so much talent on display.
All boys who represented both teams played the game hard and with excellent spirit. You all should be proud of their effort and achievement.
11’s League
Unfortunately, the day didn’t go our way and we went down in our first game only 6-0 against a strong Mt Duritt team which had a lot of talent. The boys won the next game but lost the third due to a lot of drop ball. Congratulations to the following two boys who made it to the training camp on the first day of the holidays.
  1. Gussan M – Northmead
  1. Bernie I- Northmead
12’s League
Again, the day didn’t end the way I thought it would. Many of the players were returning to play from the 2022 11’s side. I was very confident in their ability and still am. We blitzed our pool rounds winning them comfortably and progressing to the semis. We were put against the favourites of the competition, Penrith. We went into the game with an excellent game plan and the boys executed it perfectly – even silencing the Penrith crowd!
Unfortunately, we lost Bernie and Cooper to head injuries early and both players were playing at an outstanding level on the day. We lost the game 12-6.
Congratulations to the following boys who progressed to the training camp in the holidays.
  1. Max H – Crestwood
  2. Malakai B – Glenhaven
  3. Joseph G – Kellyville
  4. Cooper C – Winston Hills
