2026 Sydney West Basketball Championships

CHPSSA Zone Boys and Girls Basketball teams participated in the Sydney West Basketball Championships, held at Penrith Basketball Stadium on Monday 23rd March 2026.

Both the boys and girls teams had an extremely successful day, representing CHPSSA with great pride. Throughout the round games, both teams convincingly won all three matches by a large margin, while also demonstrating excellent sportsmanship by pulling back on defence to ensure all teams had the opportunity to participate and enjoy the games.

In the semi-finals, both teams continued their strong form, recording convincing wins to advance to the grand finals.

The boys team delivered an outstanding performance in their grand final, securing a decisive 49–23 victory.

The girls team faced Penrith in a highly competitive grand final. In an exciting and closely contested match, they were trailing with just four minutes remaining before demonstrating exceptional teamwork, composure, and determination to come from behind and secure a 24–18 win.

This is a very impressive achievement to have soo many students selected from the CHPSSA zone into these Sydney West teams/squad.
