Sydney West Girls Football Championships

On Monday 6 June, the CHPSSA Girls Football Team competed in the Sydney West Championships at Valentine Sports Park. The girls braved the cold winds and conditions all day! A very competitive competition this year, the girls ended up finishing 2nd in their pool to the respective Hawkesbury Zone. CHPSSA then went on to play the winner of the opposition pool, which was Seven Hills/Wentworthville. In a nail-biting ending, the girls ended up winning the major semi-final 2-1. We then went on to play Hawkesbury again in the grand final. The final whistle blew, and the game ended in a 0-0 and CHPSSA were crowned joint Champions. A huge congratulations to the girls for being back-to-back winners two years in a row.

I would also like to say a massive thank you to Mr Astill for his work behind the scenes and to the parents on the day for their positivity and encouragement towards the team. These days are not possible without all hands-on deck, and I appreciate all the effort involved. Well done CHPSSA on exceptional behaviour and sportsmanship throughout the entire day.

A huge shout out to Isabelle B (Sherwood Ridge Public School) and Claudia B (Matthew Pearce) who have been invited to trial for the State Sydney West Team later in the week.
