2023 Sydney West Boys Football Championships
The CHPSSA boys team should be proud of their efforts at this year’s carnival. We conceded a penalty in a tough 1-0 loss in our first game. We then went on to beat the Blue Mountains 3-0 and Mt Druitt 4-0. The boys were playing with confidence and scoring freely. In our last group game, we drew 0-0 to St Marys who were yet to concede a goal all day. These results secured Castle Hill second place in our pool. Unfortunately, we drew the semi-final 0-0 which meant that Parramatta/Merrylands progressed to the final as they finished first in their pool. Castle Hill played some technical and free-flowing football throughout the day and defended extremely well. The only goal we conceded all day was from a penalty. The skill of our boys was clearly noticed as 7 out of the 12 in the squad were selected for the Sydney West 22-man train on squad. Congratulations to Hayden F (Excelsior), Christian A (Glenhaven), Nicholas C (Winston Hills), Leo C (Winston Hills), Max H (Winston Hills), Oliver H (Samuel Gilbert) and Michael A (Jasper Road).
