2024 Sydney West Girls Softball Championships

The girls first game was against Ridges. In the first innings, both teams scored 7 across the plate. In a close game, Ridges scored a double play and capped Castle Hill to 8 runs and were victorious winning 9-8. After a close game, the girls had a bye and enjoyed the hustle, bustle and honking of the trains going past the fields. The girls played a tough game against the winners of the day, Seven Hills/ Wentworthville proved to be tough competitors as they won 10-3. Defeated by Sydney West Convenor’s 11-7, it was lovely to see the girls reunite with friends from outside their school areas. The loud chants and sportsmanship didn’t end here, as the girls were batters and aggressive in their base running. An amazing double play in the final game against Penrith/ Blue Mountains to draw 9-9. The girls finished 5th on the day.
Congratulations to the two girls selected in the Sydney West squad, Alicia J (Baulkham Hills North) and Juno B (Castle Hill). It was lovely to work with the girls in two short training sessions and to see their enthusiasm and skill thrive in softball.
